Konferens om romer

Stockholm International Conference on the Discrimination and Persecution of Roma, Sinti and Travellers. Stockholm University, Sweden, 5-7 March 2009.

Welcome to the first international scholarly conference on persecution and discrimination of the Roma and Travellers ever to take place in Sweden.

Plans for the seminars will soon be presented.

This conference is part of an international upsurge in research on Roma issues. It also aims to stimulate interest in the field among younger students, not least among students who themselves are of Roma of Travellers heritage.

The seminars cover a broad field of subjects, from the many historical examples of discrimination against and persecution of the Roma and Travellers, to inspiring examples of identity building and civil action both on the political and the literary field.

We welcome every student of Roma issues to take part in the conference.
