Cookies

At rj.se, we use cookies to understand how the site is used and to improve its structure and navigation for users.

According to the Electronic Communications Act, anyone who visits a website with cookies should be informed:

  • that the site uses cookies
  • what these cookies are used for
  • how to avoid cookies.

A cookie is a text file saved on the visitor's computer. These are used to provide information about what the visitor is doing on the site and how many people visit the site.

There are two types of cookies:

  • One type is saved as a file on your computer. For example, the information in file is used to make it easier for you to navigate the site based on your expressed wishes and interests.
  • The other type is session cookies. When you visit a web site, session cookies are stored temporarily in your computer's internal memory. The cookies disappear when you quit your browser and no personal information is saved.

We use both types. When you visit our site, a session cookie is sent between your computer and our web server, for example, to facilitate navigation. The cookie is deleted when you leave the site.

Our site does not use its own cookies. Instead, we use Google Analytics to develop and improve the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to analyse how the site is used. This information (including IP address) is forwarded to and stored by Google. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required by law or if a third party processes the information on behalf of Google. However, Google does not link your IP address with other data collected.

Cookies are also used by Sharethis, which we use to enable site visitors to share pages (via Facebook, Twitter and email).

To turn off storage of cookies

You can set your browser to not accept cookies, but you may not be able to use the site's full functionality. You can turn off cookies under Settings.

If you do not want your site visits to appear in Google Analytics' statistics, you can use opt-out add-ons with your browser: Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

More information on how cookies work is available at the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority.
