Mikael Angberg appointed new Chief Financial Officer at RJ
Mikael Angberg will become the new Chief Investment Officer of Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (RJ) as of January 2026, succeeding Björn Olsson, who is retiring.
Angberg joins RJ from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and brings extensive experience in investment management, including his previous role as Head of Asset Management at the First Swedish National Pension Fund (Första AP-fonden).
“The Chief Investment Officer at RJ plays a vital role in enabling the foundation to fund research in the humanities and social sciences. We are very pleased to welcome Mikael Angberg to the foundation,” says Marika Hedin, CEO of RJ.
Angberg holds a Master of Science in Engineering with a focus on applied mathematics and spent seven years at the particle physics facility CERN in Switzerland, where he eventually took over the management of the pension fund. Since then, he has worked in asset management across Europe and Sweden.
“I look forward to working with RJ, particularly because of its mission to promote research, which is close to my heart. The foundation is a respected institution with investments in both the Swedish and international markets, and I hope to contribute with experience from my previous roles,” says Mikael Angberg.
Riksbankens Jubileumsfond is an independent foundation that supports research in the humanities and social sciences. Since 1965, the foundation has awarded a total of SEK 19.3 billion to research.
Mikael Angberg will formally assume the role of CIO on 1 January 2026 but will begin working with the foundation from October 2025.
