UI’s Communication project on China’s global “Belt and Road Initiative” aims to inform about the changing political and economic landscape which is emerging as China expands across multiple continents. The Belt and Road Initiative will undoubtedly have a big impact on Europe and Sweden. The overall situation in world politics is changing rapidly as a communist great power makes international advances. Also, Chinese actors are directly active in Sweden, both economically and politically. Swedish companies, authorities and civil society actors need to be informed about the changing geopolitical and economic landscape and how Chinese activity can affect Sweden. In addition, the demand for and interest in knowledge about China seems to be increasing in Sweden. Through podcasts, video interviews and seminars, the project will spread research results to a wide variety of actors in Sweden. Maps and other visualization materials will be used to reinforce and clarify the ideas which the participating researchers put forth in their discussions and presentations.
