RJ Programmes

2023/12/08

Final reporting of RJ Programmes is to occur no later than the date specified in the contract.

The report is completed by the research leader via RJ's website and must be signed by both the research leader and the grant administrator. Please note that you must have completed the final report for previous projects in order to apply for new projects.

The financial final report is done in a specific field in the web form, where there is also an opportunity to leave a comment on the financial final report.

The scientific final report consists of:

  • A brief summary published on RJ's website.
  • A program document in Swedish.
  • A final conference where the program document is presented.

The purpose of both the conference and the document is to summarize the results that a RJ Program has led to and present them to researchers and the general public. The document is published in a series funded by RJ and must be in Swedish. The document should be available at the concluding conference.

The brief summary

The brief scientific summary should present the results of the project and conclude with a list of any publications along with links to publications that are published in accordance with the requirements for open access (Open Access) and other digital materials. The report must be in both Swedish and English. The scientific final report is published in full on RJ's website.

The scientific final report should be a cohesive text of at least 5,000 and a maximum of 10,000 characters per language (including spaces, excluding the list of publications).

The following points should be reported:

  • The purpose and development of the programme.
  • A brief description of the implementation.
  • The program's most significant results and a discussion of the conclusions.
  • Any new research questions.
  • How researchers have disseminated their research and whether and how collaboration has occurred.
  • A list of publications and links to personal websites. Please use headings to make it more readable (e.g., monographs, articles, textbooks, websites including Wikipedia, debates, popularizations). Highlight what is published with open access. For researchers funded by RJ from the 2010 application round onwards, it is required that they publish their peer-reviewed texts in journals and conference publications so that they are freely accessible on the internet. Therefore, indicate how compliance with the open access requirement has been ensured.

Programme publications

  • RJ covers printing costs and production but not the authors' working time.
  • The text must be a coherent text written in Swedish.
  • The maximum length is 150,000-200,000 characters, including spaces and appendices.
  • The program's main results should be the focus, and the research leader is encouraged to discuss the research's conclusions and the broader lessons that can be drawn from it.
  • The text is intended for a wider audience than researchers in the respective field, which means that key terms and similar concepts must be explained.
  • Manuscripts are submitted to RJ's research manager and then edited by an external editor contracted by RJ. The external editor is responsible for ongoing communication with the research leader regarding the text and the printing process with the publisher contracted by RJ.
  • Expect 4 months from the submission of the manuscript to the finished document.
  • The document series is downloadable from RJ's website, but a number of printed copies are also sent to the project leader.
  • If the program chooses to organize a public event to communicate its results, the document should be printed and available for distribution at that event.

Option of presenting the programme's results to a wider audience

  • RJ offers extra funding for programmes to present their results and programme publication through public events.
  • The researchers should contact their higher education institution's communications department when planning and conducting such an event.
  • RJ will cover the event's direct costs (within reasonable limits) but not salary costs or remunerations. Funds can be applied for by contacting the responsible research officer within one year of the programme's final report.
  • There is no predefined format, but it is to be conducted in Swedish. Examples include panel discussions, public lectures and conferences with a wide range of invited participants.
  • The purpose is for others beyond the involved researchers in the field to learn about the results of the research. This can include decision-makers, practitioners, journalists, interested members of the public, or researchers in other fields.
